SXSW Wednesday wrap up

What a busy day! Again and as always I started the morning with a clear plan through the day which was immediately destroyed. Thankfully my first planned event was not something I had to wake up at 8am for (I’m looking at you Nick Cave!).

This post will include photos of Amanda Palmer, Jared Leto, Jim James, NERDIST, Nick Cave, Heartless Bastards, Black Angels, Young Galexy and Hurray For the Riff Raff!

Began my morning with Amanda Palmer, who I was not stalking today, and her awesome panel made up of people from Girlie Action (I love you Girlie Action! You’re the nicest PR people I’ve ever dealt with!), Kickstarter and others who were involved with her madly successful campaign on producing and releasing her last album.

She ended her talk with a ukulele song. As you do.

Jared Leto of 30 Seconds to Mars and Fight Club.

Jared Leto takes a picture of the crowd before his interview.

Jim James of My Morning Jacket.

Live recorded Nerdist Podcast recording! With one of the heads of Machinima. And two other guys who I forget.
If not for checking twitter an hour before I wouldn’t have know this event was happening.

Yeah Chris Hardwick!

After this I decided to test my luck and see if I could get into the Nick Cave show at Stubbs even though I didn’t win the ticket raffle.

And I did!

With Warren Ellis

The rest of the evening I hopped around to fit in a few bands I hadn’t seen before.

Black Angels at Buffalo Billiards. David Fricke of Rolling Stone was hanging out at this show.

Black Angels.

Heartless Bastards at the Stages on 6th

Young Galaxy at the Montreal showcase at Swan Dive. (Check these guys out!)

I ended the night with an old favorite, Hurray for the Riff Raff, at 512.

Today I’ve already slept through the big Dave Grohl keynote talk. Ah well, yay sleep. Here are some things I’m looking forward to today.
